You may ask Meals on Wheels to delete personal information associated with your Messenger conversation, inquiry, subscription, delivery history, dietary profile, or optional RND consultation, subject to information we must retain for legal, safety, accounting, dispute, or contractual purposes.
1. Submit a deletion request
Use either of these methods:
- Email: Send a message to cardinal@cardinalcuisine.com with the subject MOW Data Deletion Request.
- Messenger: Send DELETE MY DATA to the official Meals on Wheels Facebook Page.
Do not send passwords, one-time codes, full payment-card details, or copies of government identification through Messenger. If additional identity verification is necessary, we will provide a safer method.
2. Information to include
Please provide enough information for us to locate the correct records:
- your full name;
- the Facebook or Instagram profile name used to contact MOW, if applicable;
- the mobile number or email address associated with your order;
- a brief description of the records you want deleted;
- whether you want to cancel an active subscription as part of the request.
3. What happens next
- We acknowledge the request using the contact channel available to us.
- We verify that the requester is the data subject or an authorized representative.
- We locate information in reasonably identifiable MOW systems and with relevant service providers.
- We delete, anonymize, or block eligible information and notify you when the request is completed or explain any lawful limitation.
We process requests within the period required by applicable law. Complex requests, identity issues, active disputes, or records held in backups may require additional time. Backup copies are protected from ordinary use and removed through scheduled retention cycles.
4. What deletion may and may not cover
Eligible records may include inquiry details, MOW-managed Messenger identifiers and message records, customer profiles, meal preferences, delivery instructions, consent records, and dietary or health-related personalization information.
We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary to comply with tax, accounting, food-safety, fraud-prevention, legal, regulatory, contractual, insurance, or dispute-resolution duties. Where appropriate, retained records will be restricted from ordinary operational use.
Deleting your information may require us to end an active personalized meal subscription if the remaining information is insufficient to prepare or deliver meals safely.
5. Information controlled by Meta
This process covers information controlled by MOW and Cardinal Cuisine. It does not automatically delete information held independently by Facebook, Instagram, or Meta. You may need to use the privacy and account controls provided within those services for Meta-controlled information.
